What is art?? Art is many things for many people. To me art is a form of expression, an expression of who you are as a person. I discover who I am through art, through creation.
My art is not people pleasing, there are those who find it to simple. But there are also those who find something in my work which intrigue them and draw them in. I believe that it is strands of creation that grab them and won't let go.
I do not subscribe to one style but there are things that is common in most of my work. That is, that they are all controlled in some way, there is always some structure or symmetry in them that create a harmony. This harmony does not come from planning but comes from an intuitive knowledge of when a painting is finished and has reached the end of its journey. Sometimes I am only along for the ride and afterwards discover where the journey has taken me.
Creation is alive in itself and must not be to controlled or it will crystallize and die.
